WHO ARE WE?
Save Power S.A – Established Nov 2007 - Under a joint agreement with SavePower Europe, of which headquarters is located in Denmark.
We offer a range of products which are all aimed at the significant reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions globally. We care for the environment and hope to solve the various environmental issues which South Africa may or may not face in the future, at present SavePower S.A (Pty) Ltd. is dedicated towards the establishing of a solution to the energy crisis faced by South Africa.
WE CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Our primary goal is to create awareness of energy efficiency and establish the creation of an attitude of rational usage of resources such amongst South Africans.
WHY SAVE POWER?
We are facing a crisis in terms of the demand for electricity being higher then the supply, this is considered to be crucial to growing economies.
The environment and mother earth's resources such as coal will eventually be depleted one day, provisions are necessary to find alternative sources of electricity, this plus the saving of power will lead to the Moral Suasion of our campaign which will help promote a South African environmental awareness movement.
Another fact is that people generally like to do the right thing.
WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTALISM?
Environmentalism – sometimes 'ecologism') is a broad philosophy and social movement centered on a concern for the conservation and improvement of the natural environment, both for its own sake as well as its importance to civilization.
WHAT ABOUT SOUTH AFRICA?
South Africa is a significant coal exporter but imports large amounts of oil and some natural gas. The country has a highly developed synthetic fuels industry that uses coal, condensate and natural gas as feedstock.
South Africa has the world’s sixth largest recoverable coal reserves
South Africa is the 15th Biggest producer of Greenhouse Gases
We are far behind in our renewable energy programme
